Hip-Hop Section

I will primarily focus on artists who hit the hip-hop scene from 1986-1990. I might comment on artists who came out prior or after the time stated. Here you will  find out my opinion s on items hip-hop related. I'll probably feature some album reviews as well. Before anyone blows their top regarding my reviews , allow me to present my vantage point. My reviews are strictly from a fan perspective. I don't have a music background nor have I been involved in the hip-hop business.
For Starters, here are some links:

The Official Public Enemy home page This is a page that is from the group themselves. They offer a free e-mail account for interested fans.  There is a bulletin board section where fans sound  off on various issues. Be sure to check the FAQ before posting though. Occasionally Public Enemy members will post or reply to a fan post.  In the Hype section there is a relatively recent collection of Public Enemy related articles as reported from other news sources. They also have a section where fans can check out the lyrics from all of their albums. There is another section where fans can check out brief video clips of concert performances and pictures.  Lastly, there is the Terrordome section where Chuck D lets fans in on current Public Enemy happenings and lets fans know what else is on his mind. The Terrordome section is either updated once a week or two weeks depending on Chuck's schedule.

Bring the Noise.comThis page is an off-shoot of Public Enemy's homepage.  It is bascially a series of online radio shows. The shows typically start at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time in the United States. All of the shows are archived so in case you missed a show you can catch what you missed. There is a hip-hop news section that keeps visitors updated on current happenings. There is a bulletin board on this site as well but it is more focused since visitors can comment on the various shows broadcasted and submit song requests.  Chuck D hosts a Sunday night countdown show. He also hosts a show  in the week where he plays unsigned artists demos. The other hosts and participants are  Wildman Steve,  DJ Kamron, Gary G-Wiz and 2 Angry listeners.

Rapsheet.com This page is that of the hip-hop newspaper of the same name. The newspaper puts a few of its articles on the website but don't expect much. There is a games section. There is a online collection of shows under the heading KWRS. KWRS in my opinion is the main draw of the site.  There are two underground radio shows that air on the site that are really good. One is called Blak Forest Radio which is based in Los Angeles, CA  and airs on Saturday at 7:00 PST in the United States. The other show is called Abstract Radio which is based in Oakland, CA and airs on Friday 7:00 PST.

rap3000: Hip Hop's Future...This site was formerly wRAPradio.com. It is a internet only hip-hop radio station.  There is no set format. This homepage is based in Dallas, Texas.  However there are two weekly shows. One is called the Product and the other one is called Hip Hop Express. For those interested they have a NewzLetta to subscribe to.  Otherwise the station just plays music with no interruptions.

Homeboy from Hell: Hip-hop Section This is one busy page but it is well kept. The author has both old hip-hop record reviews and current ones as well. This is not the typical record reviews that essentially summarizes an album. There is a rating system which is explained on the page. The distinguishing factor on this page is that the records that are reviewed provide a track by track analysis.  There is also a mailing list to subscribe to for those interested.
